Homebound Vaccine Access

The City is partnering with community health service providers to ensure homebound individuals have access to the vaccine. The Get Help for Older Adults and People with Disabilities page has been updated to include information for people who are homebound and need access to the COVID-19 Vaccine.

If you are a person with a disability who needs to get vaccinated at home, you can email cictvaxcc@sfdph.org or call 628-652-2700 for help.

 

Update on the use of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine:

On 4/23/21, the CDC and FDA lifted an 11-day pause on the use of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine and recommended restarting its use in the U.S

At the J&J safety review, 15 cases of rare blood clots with low platelets were identified out of almost 8 million doses given in the U.S. The risk for these rare blood clots with low platelets is about 2 out of every million people vaccinated with J&J. These rare blood clots with low platelets are now listed as a potential risk on the vaccine label and fact sheets.

Federal, state and local health officials are confident that J&J is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19. J&J’s benefits outweigh its known and potential risks in anyone 18 years of age and older.

The City is working on updating sf.gov/vaccine-sites to indicate which vaccines are available at City-run vaccine sites. We recommend you bookmark this site for the most current information.
