Garry has served as the JDAI/DMC Coordinator for 6 years and is an employee of the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department. Prior to this time, Garry served as coordinator for the Mt. Zion Hospital Violence Prevention Program, Interim Executive Director for the California Abortion Rights and Reproductive League, and Executive Director of San Francisco Educational Services, a community-based non-profit organization. Garry began his career as a middle school teacher, working with learning disabled adolescents.

Garry's role as JDAI Coordinator has morphed' over the years from organizing all the various work groups to serving as the JPD Population Manager – analyzing in-depth case processing issues; coordinating Alternatives to Secure Detention; and as the point person' for language access issues.
