On December 18, 2013, Mayor Edwin M. Lee announced a Mayoral Executive Directive ordering all City departments that have the legal authority over the permitting or mapping of new or existing housing to prioritize in their administrative work plans the construction and development of all net new housing including permanently affordable housing.

Call for Artists: Public Art Opportunities on MUNI Vehicles in Mission District

San Francisco Planning is launching a Public Art Campaign, seeking artists who represent the distinct identity of Mission Street. The Mission Street Art on MUNI Series will select four Bay Area artists to produce two pieces each of original artwork to be temporarily displayed at the BART 16th Street Plaza and on the exterior and interior of MUNI vehicles that travel through the Mission District.
