The San Francisco Adult Probation Department is committed to Public Safety and Public Service. It is our goal to utilize the principles of community corrections to provide supervision and assistance to individuals on probation to achieve positive outcomes for the probationer, victims of crime and the community of the City and County of San Francisco.

Our mission includes assisting probationers to successfully end supervision by completing the mandates of probation. Helping offenders to be accountable to the terms of their probation will improve the lives of offenders and add to public safety.

To achieve the goal of offender success, we will utilize evidence-based practices in designing our supervision plans for probationers. Risk and needs assessment tools will be utilized to determine the case management plan for each offender. Providing the right program for offenders will assist in their success.

The San Francisco Adult Probation Department will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to provide the services and programs necessary for offender success. This collaboration includes working with the offenders, their families, other Government agencies; non-profits and community organizations to provide appropriate and effective interventions to meet the needs of offenders.

The San Francisco Adult Probation Department believes that true public safety can only be achieved by focusing our efforts on offender success. Our motto is Your Success is our Success.
