There will be public comment on each item.
1. Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 4:40pm. Committee members present: Commissioner Rene Ontiveros, Commissioner Angel Carrion, Commissioner Javonte Holloway, Transitional Age Youth Initiative Young Adult Advocate Nadiyah Sherreff. Staff present: Mario Yedidia. There was quorum.
2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)
Commissioner Holloway, seconded by commissioner Carrion, moved to approve the agenda. This motion was approved unanimously by acclamation.
3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)
A. February 9, 2012
Commissioner Carrion, seconded by Commissioner Holloway, moved to approve the minutes to the meeting of February 9, 2012. This motion was approved unanimously by acclamation.
4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)
There was none.
5. Business (All Items Below Discussion and Possible Action)
A. Preparation and study for joint hearing with Police Commission regarding youth/police relations
Committee members reviewed data relating to the number of juveniles brought to district stations in 2010 and 2011 and the expired Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Police Department and the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), which used to outline the parameters of the School Resource Officer (SRO) program, before the MOU expired in 2004 and the SRO program was reconstituted in 2010.
Committee member Sherreff began making a flyer for the joint hearing.
There was no official action taken.
6. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 6:40pm.
