1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 4:31 pm. Commissioners present: Listana, Li, Avalos. Commissioners absent: Edelhart, Zheng; Staff present: Adele Failes-Carpenter

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)

Commissioner Listana, seconded by commissioner Avalos, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner Listana, seconded by commissioner Avalos, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

A. Executive officer updates, check-ins, and committee reports

Committee members discussed updates from their one on one goal-setting meetings with other commissioners. Commissioner Avalos gave an update about the upcoming DCYF Community Oversight committee legislation. There was no public comment.

B. Review plan for presenting to Student Advisory Council, December 8, 2014

Committee members discussed who could attend the December 8th student advisory council meeting and discussed bringing this up in Monday’s full Youth Commission meeting. There was no public comment.

C. Mid-Year Retreat Planning Update

Ms. Failes-Carpenter gave an update about planning teams: Team-building; Core Content Review; and Budget team. She advised commissioners of the scheduling request for another planning meeting. There was no public comment.

D. Review Upcoming Legislation Referred

Committee members reviewed the commission’s 13-14 recommendations for the children’s fund. There was no public comment.

E. Approve Agenda for December 1, 2014 Full YC Meeting

Commissioner Listana, seconded by Commissioner Avalos, moved to approve the agenda for December 1st. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.
