1. Call to Order and Roll Call


The meeting was called to order at 5:10 pm. Commissioners present: David, He, Wu. There was quorum. Commissioner Bernick was noted present at 5:14pm.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)



Commissioner He, seconded by Commissioner Wu, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner He, seconded by Commissioner Wu, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.


4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)



There was none.

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)



A. Outreach and endorsement updates

Josh, a freshman at Lowell, Wilson, a senior at Lincoln, and Cami Doo, a student at St. Ignatius, updated the committee they had met with Supervisor Katy Tang to brief her on Vote16. She invited them to attend a community event in her district on Sunday.

Lorelei, a sophomore at Lowell, and Commissioner Wu updated the committee that they had briefed Nancy Pelosi’s Chief of Staff that same day.

Cami updated the committee that she was reaching out to her principal about making a presentation on the SI campus.

Lorelei updated the committee that she had presented to and received endorsement from the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council.

Commissioner David and Iris, a sophomore at Lowell, updated the committee they had met with Supervisor Scott Wiener to brief him on Vote16.

Lorelei updated the committee that she was meeting with Supervisor Breed’s chief of staff on Friday the 15th. Carshell Green, Wilson, and Commissioner He indicated they would attend as well.

There was no further public comment.

B. Preparation for upcoming presentations/workshops

Commissioners reviewed and distributed talking points for the following week. There was no public comment.

C. BOS outreach

This item was tabled because the items had been discussed earlier in the agenda.

D. Updates from video and media team

The team explained their goal was to finish a video within two weeks and they are partnering with the Mix at SFPL. Carshell Green agreed to perform in the video with a rap. There was no further public comment.

E. Updates from poster contest team

Lorelei Vaisse updated the committee that the poster contest flier is live on the youth commission website. There was no further public comment.

F. Review other committee and YEA updates

Iris, Wilson, Carshell, and Commissioner He indicated they would attend the Board of Education vote on the student voter registration resolution the following Tuesday.

Youth empowerment academy members discussed having a brainstorming session of values, vision, and mission on Tuesday, the 19th.

There was no further public comment.

G. Determine co-facilitator for next meeting

Iris asked to act as community co-facilitator at the next meeting. There was no further public comment.

6. Staff Report


Celi-Tamayo Lee gave brief programmatic updates for the Youth Empowerment Academy. Adele Failes-Carpenter had no staff report.

7. Executive Committee Report



Commissioner Wu reminded her colleagues to work on their annual budget and policy priorities.
