1. Call to Order and Roll Call



The meeting was called to order at 5:11 pm. All committee members were present. There was quorum.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)



Commissioner He, seconded by Commissioner David, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner Wu, seconded by Commissioner David, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)



There was none.

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)



A. Debrief and follow up on BOS Hearing on Vote16

Commissioners discussed the joint meeting with the Board of Supervisors on May 3rd.

B. Outreach for final vote on Vote16 legislation

Commissioners discussed sending thank you emails to supervisors for holding the joint meeting. There was no public comment.

C. Updates from video and media team

Commissioner He identified herself as the point person for video team and suggested developing a social media challenge. She reminded committee members to share their bios for the website. There was no public comment.

D. Updates from poster contest team

There were none.

E. Review upcoming poll worker opportunity

Commissioner He explained that she had signed up for the poll worker opportunity and that department of elections was seeking more poll worker volunteers. There was no public comment.

F. Discuss transitions and plans for YEA in summertime

Committee members discussed wanting to place the following items in their discussion parking lot: A calendar and contact list; Roles of leadership, like elected leader outreach, volunteer coordination, adult ambassadors, web management, outreach, facilitation, social media; leader compensation; training and recruiting new leaders. There was no public comment.

G. Determine co-facilitator for next meeting

Commissioner David, seconded by Commissioner He, motioned to put the civic engagement committee on summer recess and to cancel the remaining regularly scheduled meetings for the 2015-16 term. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

There was none.

7. Executive Committee Report



Commissioner Wu updated that the next full YC meeting was being held the 23rd.
