1. Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 5:15 PM. Commissioners present: Madeleine Matz, William Juarez, Stephanie Li, Luis Avalos-Nunez
Staff present: Monica Guzman. There was quorum.
There was no public comment.
2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)
Commissioner Li, seconded by Commissioner Matz, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

A. Brainstorm and discussion of committee priorities
a. Update on partnering with Peer Resources
The EJI had a meeting scheduled with Ruby from Peer Resources at June Jordan High School. They were unable to meet and scheduled another meeting for this Friday between 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Chair Juarez will be attending. The EJI committee is working on creating a physical folder with material on resources for undocumented youth. They also discussed connecting with two SAC members that are students at June Jordan. Lastly Commissioner Li mentioned that La Raza at Lowell is planning to work with Hermanos Unidos at SFSU to create a mentorship program. Commissioner Juarez mentioned that he would connect with Hermanos Unidos at SFSU.
b. Update on townhall and resolution for unaccompanied minors
The EJI committee decided that before they schedule a meeting with Board of Edu members or the superintendent they want to meet with their appointing officials to let them know about their priorities.
Commissioner Li messaged her appointing official to set up a time to meet and discuss priorities. Commissioner Juarez has a meeting scheduled with Supervisor Avalos’ legislative aide on Friday. Commissioner Avalos-Nunez e-mailed Hydra Mendoza to schedule a meeting for him and Commissioner Matz, the other mayoral appointee in this committee.
Commissioner Matz started a google document with talking points for meeting with appointing officials.
The EJI still needs to contact members from to SAC. The EJI contacted Angelina Romano from the district to request a meeting for an update on the UACs.
The EJI also started a google document so they can have an outline of a resolution. They will use this outline during their meetings with their appointing officials. Commissioner Juarez and Commissioner Avalos-Nunez will head this resolution.
c. Working session on CBA resolution
The EJI continued to work on the google document they have on CBA resolutions. Commissioner Li and Commissioner Matz will head this resolution.
B. Review current pertinent legislation
The EJI briefly looked over pertinent legislation.
The EJI also decided to meet at 5:00 PM instead of 5:15 PM now that Commissioner Avalos-Nunez’s internship has ended.
They also discussed getting in contact and working with Commissioner Pating regarding the resolution condemning racist parties.
7. Executive Committee Report
Commissioner Avalos-Nunez reminded the EJI that the next Full YC meeting will be held on Tuesday February 16th at 5:15 pm in room 278.
8. Staff Report
Staff Monica reminding youth to fill out the volunteering form for the naturalization fair on February 27th.
