1. Call to Order and Roll Call



The meeting was called to order at 5:22 PM. Commissioners present: Madeleine Matz, William Juarez, and Stephanie Li. Commissioner Luis Avalos-Nunez noted present at 5:53pm

Staff present: Leah LaCroix. There was quorum.

There was no public comment.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)



Commissioner Matz, seconded by Commissioner Li, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

A. Brainstorm and discussion of committee priorities
a. Update on partnering with Peer Resources
The EJI committee is still working on creating a physical folder with material on resources for undocumented youth. The considered compiling existing resources in an electronic format for the time being.

b. Update on resolution of commendation for Peer Resources at June Jordan
EJI would still like to work on a resolution or commendation for Peer Resources, to be adopted by the full commission at the May 16th meeting.

c. Update on resolution for unaccompanied minors
Commissioner Avalos and Commissioner Juarez informed the committee that they are still working on a draft of the UAC resolution. This resolution will also be ready for a first reading for the April 4th full commission meeting. Angelina Romano provided the committee with insight on areas to research to inform the resolution, and the funding status of legal resources unaccompanied minors. There was no further public comment.

d. Update on CBA resolution
Commissioner Li and Commissioner Matz presented the draft resolution they have been working on. The committee agreed to put it on the full commission agenda for Monday, March 21st. There was no public comment.

B. Review current pertinent legislation

This item was tabled until the March 29th meeting.

C. Review Budget and Policy Priority timeline

Commissioner Avalos and staff informed the committee about the internal timeline to prepare the committee’s budget and policy priorities, and submit them to the executive committee. The committee identified priorities they would like to include in the budget and policy priorities document. There was no public comment.
