1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 4:06pm. Commissioners present: Brodwin, Bonner, Tu Mutch. Commissioners tardy: LaCroix (arrived 4:08pm). Commissioners absent: Yang. Staff present: Yedidia.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)

Commissioner Bonner, seconded by Commissioner Tu Mutch, moved to approve the agenda. This motion was approved unanimously by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

A. December 21, 2011

Commissioner Bonner, seconded by Commissioner Tu Mutch, moved to approve the minutes to the meeting of December 21, 2011. This motion was approved unanimously by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)

There was none.

5. Staff Report/Update on Communications, etc.

Mario Yedidia reminded committee members that issue-based committees have been crafting responses to Mayor Lee’s 17-point jobs and opportunity plan, and that these responses would be edited into a letter to Mayor Lee that Chair LaCroix would send this Monday.

6. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

D. Discussion and curriculum review of Green Jobs training of Department of the Environment staff

Puali Ojea of the Department of the Environment spoke to committee members about the Green Jobs training program. Commissioners Bonner and LaCroix agreed to do a training to the 18-person Green Jobs team regarding the nuts and bolts of City government.

c. Media and Community Relations Officer
d. All Executive Officers: Check-Ins with other Commissioners

B. Setting the agenda for the January 9, 2012 meeting of the full Youth Commission

Committee members agreed to agendize presentations from Revolution Hunger and the Youth Vote Student Survey, as well as the TAY resolution.

C. Discussion and curriculum review of January 21 and 22, 2012 Mid Year retreat

Committee members agreed that those Youth Commissioners and Student Advisory Council members who wish to be a part of planning the retreat can do so at upcoming meetings next Wednesday and Friday.

7. Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 5:42pm.
