1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 4:42 pm. Commissioners present: Wu, Mansori, He, Avalos, Plunkett. Staff present: Adele Failes-Carpenter. There was quorum.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)

Commissioner Mansori, seconded by Commissioner He, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner Mansori, seconded by Commissioner Plunkett, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)

There was none.

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

A. Executive officer updates, check-ins

Commissioners checked in about how their weeks are going.

B. Discuss committee goals for coming year and ideas for supporting fellow commissioners in coming term

Commissioners discussed their respective goals for the year. They also agreed to have one on one check ins with other commissioners by the end of the month according to the following breakdown:

Commissioner Mansori: Commissioners Pating and David
Commissioner He: Commissioners Soto, Marshall-Fricker, and Mao
Commissioner Avalos: Commissioners Calderon and Juarez
Commissioner Plunkett: Commissioners Matz and Galeano
Commissioner Wu: Commissioners Kong and Li

C. Review calendar of regular committee meeting dates

Commissioners did not suggest any changes to the regular meetings schedule. There was no public comment.

D. Review of Updates on Commission Outreach and Communications

Commissioners Mansori and He agreed to follow up to prepare a presentation for the October 5, 2015 full Youth Commission meeting. There was no public comment.

E. Review of recent youth-related Board of Supervisors legislation

Commissioner Plunkett introduced recent board of supervisors legislation with impacts on youth, including Supervisor Yee’s childcare impact fee legislation. There was no public comment.

F. Committee reports

There were none. There was no public comment.

G. Approve Agenda for September 21, 2015 Full YC Meeting

The committee approved the agenda for the upcoming full Youth Commission meeting including the following non-standing items:

• Presentation on DCYF and Children’s Fund
• Presentation on Supervisor Yee’s Childcare Impact Fee
• Presentation from YSRO on Emergency Preparedness
• Presentation from staff on Policy Research

Commissioner Avalos, seconded by Commissioner He, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

6. Staff Report

Staff shared programmatic updates. There was no public comment.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:18 pm.
