1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 5:06 pm. Commissioners present: Cardenas, Berliner, Wu, Edelhart; Staff present: Adele Carpenter; There was quorum.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)

Commissioner Cardenas, seconded by Commissioner Berliner, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner Edelhart, seconded by Commissioner Wu, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

There was none.

5. Presentations (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

A. Presentation from the San Francisco Domestic Violence Consortium
Presenter: Beverly Upton, Director, SF Domestic Violence Consortium

Members of the SF Domestic Violence consortium gave an overview of their own work and the intersections of child welfare and domestic violence. There was no public comment.

6. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

A. Review outstanding questions regarding SFPD DGO 6.09

Committee members discussed writing a resolution of intent about the regular re-agendizing and review of the paragraph G of SFPD DGO 6.09, and a community-involved and transparent process for the establishment of SFPD-child welfare collaboration protocols. There was no public comment.

B. Review SFPD priorities

Commissioners discussed including updates on the police training priority in their annual budget and policy priorities. There was no public comment.

C. Review plan for committee contributions to commission’s annual budget and policy priorities

Committee members discussed updating their CIP and SFPD priorities for their annual presentation on their budget and policy priorities. There was no public comment.

7. Staff Report (Discussion Only)

Ms. Carpenter shared updates that counselors at juvenile hall were requesting chemical weapons, and consideration of the request is part of their contract. Chief Nance confirmed he would like to explore other options.

8. Executive Committee Report (Discussion Only)

There was none.
