1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 5:08 p.m. Committee members present: Mia Tu Mutch, Lily Marshall-Fricker, Alex Guzman-Ramos, Eric Wu. Commissioners Absent: Vee Taumoepeau and Vanessa Warri. Staff present: Mario Yedidia and Adele Carpenter.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)


Commissioner Guzman-Ramos, seconded by Commissioner Marshall-Fricker motioned to approve the agenda. This motion was approved unanimously.

A. Community Outreach and Civic Engagement Presentation
Presenter: Adele Carpenter, Community Outreach and Civic Engagement Coordinator

Outreach staff, Adele Carpenter, highlighted key points of the developing community outreach and civic engagement plan, including outreach to effected communities and community-based organizations during the resolution-drafting phase, the plan to hold off- site meetings, and increased community engagement by issue-based committees.

B. Plan for follow-up on Housing Trust Fund Resolution lobbying of Supervisors and Mayor
Presenter: Commissioner Wu

Commissioner Wu discussed his plans to follow up with city departments regarding the TAY housing evaluation.

C. Plan for a hearing on the sensitivity training required for city employees and contractors under Chapter 12N of the San Francisco Administrative Code
Presenter: Commissioner Tu Mutch

Commissioner Tu Mutch discussed the goals of the 12N compliance hearing regarding city department’s implementation of LGBTQ sensitivity training for youth-serving staff and contractors. Committee members discussed the need for increased community engagement with the hearing and planned to outreach to youth at LGBTQ youth-serving sites, as well as develop a social media campaign, “Queer Youth Matter: 12N Now or Never,” to crowd source stories from youth and build capacity for youth particpation in the hearing.

6. Items to Report to Executive Committee (Action Item)


Commissioner Tu Mutch asked staff to report on the social media campaign to the executive committee, and to request that commissioners participate in getting submissions from youth.

7. Executive Committee Report (Discussion Only)

Staff gave updates on the planning of the Bay area-wide youth commission summit.
