1. Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 5:43pm. Commissioners present: Jillian Wu, Anna He, and Cris Plunkett. Commissioner absent: Jessica Calderon. There was quorum. Commissioner Luis Avalos arrived at 5:47pm. Staff Present: Monica Guzman, Leah LaCroix, and Intern Carshell Green.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)
Commissioner Plunkett, seconded by Commissioner He, moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.
3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)
A. Executive officer updates, check-ins
Commissioners shared updates about their days and upcoming academic responsibilities. There was no public comment.
B. Debrief last full YC meeting/Mid-Year Retreat
Commissioners commented that this retreat felt shorter and less content heavy than the orientation retreat, but there wasn’t a noticeable difference. They preferred a shorter retreat day. While the atmosphere of the retreat was welcoming and playful, at times commissioners didn’t feel productive.
The committee suggested staff include a workshop on the language of a resolution into future retreats—addressing phrasing, content, and the order of whereas clauses. The committee will consider doing a presentation to the full Youth Commission on resolution writing.

C. Review of recent youth-related Board of Supervisors legislation
The committee reviewed legislation introduced from the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. There was no public comment.
D. Committee reports
Commissioner gave general updates on their respective committees. There was no public comment.
E. Approve agenda for February 1, 2016 Full YC Meeting
The committee considered the agenda for the upcoming full Youth Commission meeting including the following non-standing items:
