1. Call to Order and Roll Call


Vice Chair Kong called the meeting to order at 5:17pm. Commissioners present: Lily Marshall-Fricker, Jarrett Mao, Erica Kong. Commissioners absent: Giovanna Soto, Cris Plunkett. Staff present: Leah LaCroix, Kiely Hosmon. There was quorum. There was no public comment.

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)

Commissioner Mao, seconded by Commissioner Marshall-Fricker , moved to approve the agenda. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioner Marshall-Fricker, seconded by Commissioner Mao, moved to approve the minutes. There was no public comment. The motion was approved by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)


There was none

5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)

A. Review and discussion on San Francisco’s pedestrian safety initiatives and programs Commissioner Plunkett arrives at 5:20pm.
Staff needs more time to research this area. Commissioners interested in learning more about: 1) Vision Zero 2) Islands in particular areas 3) why some areas have more technolog-ically advanced pedestrian safety measures (for example: the light up sidewalks-how are these funded, how are they decided to be placed, and how can we get more of these around schools?)
B. Update on committee policy priorities follow-up
There is possible movement on the 12N priority area.
Commissioner Soto arrives at 5:27pm.
C. Update on the Housing, Environment, and City Services committee annual report
Commissioners reviewed their draft. Commissioner Kong will update and send all changes to staff by tonight.
D. Review and update on recently introduced Legislation at the Board of Supervisors
Legislation has yet to be introduced before this meeting. Staff updated commissioners on past and upcoming hearings of interest. Congratulations to Commissioners who came out and spoke in favor of the Non Citizen Parent Voting charter amendment measure.
E. Meeting with new Homeless Director
Identified a time and date to hold a special committee meeting to meet the new Homeless Director.

6. Executive Committee Report


Commissioner Plunkett informed the group about the celebration to take place after the next full YC meeting.

7. Staff Report

Staff reported that commissioners should be getting more involved in outreach events that are taking place in the city.

There will be an orientation retreat planning session on July 21st. Read weekly internal for more information.
