1. Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 5:23 p.m. Commissioners present: Sarah Armstrong, Nicholas Persky, and Mia Shackelford.
2. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)
A. Tuesday, January 31, 2012
Commissioner Shackelford, seconded by Commissioner Persky, moved to approve the minutes of January 31, 2012. This motion was approved unanimously.
3. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)
Commissioner Persky, seconded by Commissioner Armstrong, moved to approve the agenda. This motion was approved unanimously.
4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda (Discussion Only)
There were none.
5. Business (All Items to Follow Discussion and Possible Action)
A. Review Priorities & Set timeline
Committee members went over priorities and made sure there was a set timeline.
B. Research & work on policy priorities which include:
- Resolution on increasing private sector work opportunities for youth
- Youth involvement plans for major city events
- One stop centers effectiveness for youth job seekers
- Public-private sector partnerships to increase youth workforce opportunities
Committee members spent the rest of the meeting researching youth employment data and working through their committee priorities. Commissioner Armstrong delegated different research topics to each committee member. Members worked and discussed youth employment priorities and goals in San Francisco. Committee members agreed to meet again on February 14, 2012 at 4:45 pm.
6. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
